The UN? Appealing to the UN is a thing? How does that even happen?
Edit: Oh, it is a thing and it’s in the article lol.
Right. well, that’s that then surely?
Hope they will let the poor kid go now. Grief is a terrible thing but this has been far too long in the public eye. I see it going along the lines of when that group blockaded the hospital in a similar case if it carries on much longer.
This part in particular is interesting:
>The family’s legal team argues that withdrawing ventilation will therefore result in his certain death.
Not only is ventilation only one of 17+ medical interventions currently in place, but the mother recently posted video to social media and claimed that he was trying to breathe on his own. If this was the case, then surely withdrawing ventilation would not result in his death.
Since when was ‘appealing to the UN’ even an option?
What UN body would have the remit and jurisdiction to intervene in British domestic law?
People need to do some research into his mother and family. They are using the lawyers as much they are using her. Her statements have contradicted themselves several times over.
good. let him go. i’m tired of all these religious zealots who love to pretend that dead people aren’t fucking dead. let the child go and grieve
Just let the kid die, for the love of fuck.
Stop making him suffer for your own selfishness. Yes it’s a tragedy. Yes, it’s difficult. Yes, you will grieve. But the kid is not going to get better.
To put it bluntly, he’s a living corpse right now. Just let him go.
It seems that certain sections of the media are trying to conflate this with cases like Charlie Gard. But in those cases those children were still alive. He’s dead. It’s not really the same issue any more.
Ah yes the ‘online challenge’ where you hang yourself to death.
I bet this sick woman abused the crap out of her kid and he committed suicide.
The images of the kid are creepy as hell, it’s literally a dead person with oxygenated blood being pumped through it. A real life un-dead.
>The family argues that withdrawing treatment is contrary to the boy’s clearly expressed wishes.
Ah yes, I’m sure a 12 year old just happened to bring that up in conversation. The same 12 year old that it sounds like he was trying to take his own life.
Just let the poor kid go, so he can finally be at peace.
Can someone explain why his brain is showing signs of necrosis, yet his organs are apparently fine? Why does the brain respond differently in this situation?
These people are sick and need help to grieve properly. They’re being absolutely milked by lawyers and idiots that want to push their religious extremism.
The family want to give him time but time for what? He will never be the same Archie they loved before all this, even if given forever. The longer they drag this out, the harder it will be to accept that he is gone and not coming back. They are only prolonging the inevitable for Archie and themselves. Grief is tough but it does not get better by diving headfirst into false hope.
The kid is literally rotting in his hospital bed – just give him some peace.
I feel bad for the family, they cannot accept that their son is already dead, and that is a terrible thing.
Be like Frozen – Let it go
Let god decide seeing they’re so god fearing. Remove the man made machines. Let Jesus help him breathe.
