Ministers under pressure to spare London commuters from massive fare rise

  1. Won’t millions of people just stop commuting?

I’m in the office two days a week at the moment but I could make a pretty compelling case to my boss that I need to fully work from home if the fares go too high. There’s probably loads like me too.

  2. The should only step in and raise subsidies once the operators profits go negative.
Why should the tax payer be paying private companies to run services when the income from those services go to their shareholders?
