Hello all, I read the FAQs but I still hope this is appropriate for this subreddit. I am an American citizen who is trying to learn more about about their German heritage and I had a few questions that I figured some folks on this sub may be able to help answer.

My grandfather passed a few weeks ago and I have started to learn a lot of new things that he had never told me before. This has left me with a few questions that I have tried to find answers for via Google but my searches either failed to yield results or I am seeking additional context.

Questions:

1. When I was much younger, my grandfather had taught me a few German phrases. Only a few really stayed with me, but there is 1 phrase that he frequently used that I can’t entirely recall. It roughly translated to “for God’s sake” and sounded something along the lines of “ugh-believe-gott-en-you” (that probably won’t be very helpful and is likely way off). The closest phrase I could construct via Google translate was “ach gott und herr” which supposedly translates to “oh god and lord”. Is “ach gott und herr” an actual phrase in German, or does anyone have an idea what phrase my grandfather may have been using?
2. As someone who loves playing soccer very much, this naturally interested me. Apparently they even honor him on a structure around their stadium and are seemingly still around today. I was wondering if anyone has any anecdotal information about this soccer team. Do a lot of people watch them play, or do they have a very small fanbase? Are they any good? Are you personally a fan or have you seen one of their games before? Any information about this soccer club is much appreciated!
