In former GDR all supermarkets (little local shops) were called “Konsum” (and pronounced KON-sum instead of kon-soom).
problem is
almost nobody in Croatia has crypto or can afford it
so it’s just a stunt to popularise shitty crypto
next thing they do is turn all products into Nfts or something stupid like that
Yay, so I can sit in line for 10 minutes waiting for my transaction to be confirmed, while I pay $4 in transaction fees on my $1 bottle of coke?
Revolutionary!
Great!
You buy a chewing gum for 1 dollar. You spend 120 dollars on Ether gas fees.
You drive 5 km both ways to arrive to the shop, producing around 1.2 kg co2 and pay 5 dollars for the fuel. And the transation itself will generate another 3kg Co2.
So overall instead of paying 6 dollars and producing 1.2 kg Co2, you spend 126 dollars with 4.2 kg Co2.
