>He added: “Instead of opening a frank and honest discussion about your gender and how you wanted to live your life, you chose a different path – you chose a path of deceit.
>”You persuaded them you were male and acted like you were male.”
Well that statement seems like a can of worms
The dangerous thing about this article is that it seems to conflate the fact that he hid his birth gender from these women with the fact he was abusive. My understanding is that the charge is for the latter, not both.
Clearly has mental health problems.
No doubt the transphobes will be here soon, totally misunderstanding what the specific case is about and going on about how “men pretending to be women” are dangerous.
He’s also black. Should we plaster that over the headline as if it’s relevant too?
He’s been jailed for sexually assaulting people, not because of his identity. It shouldn’t be relevant.
Jailed where tho? Male or female facilities?
Practically a 100% transphobic article and headline.
Can this sub agree not to participate in the BBC (and UK media in general)’s pathetic campaign to sensationalise and stigmatise trans people? i.e. just don’t allow posts of articles like this which have no public interest beyond generating hysteria over trans people.
This case has little to do with the person’s gender identity. If the BBC was a reasonable, fairly-edited news source, they would not present the story like this.

JK Rowling will be creaming in her knickers.
But this never ever happens
