I love the Belgian coastline, such a natural beauty

  1. it’s indeed very nice, but not natural! There is not a meter of non-artificial coastline here 🙂 it’s all been intensly landscaped, build, rebuild and developed over centuries. It was mostly mudflats* untill we dumped mountains of sand on it, wich washes away slowly, at wich point we pump it back to shore! Tbh this counts for the entirity of Belgian soil, every cm has been mapped and worked by previous generations, everything is on top of something else and we don’t have a single smudge of old-growth european forest for example. No matter how old the forest you are in is, a person planned, planted or intensly managed it! imo fascinating in a way!

  2. I don’t know if this was meant to be sarcastic but I unironically think this is a beautiful shot

  3. Aah yes the Belgian coastline, ugliest I’ve seen so far. Hope I don’t come across a worse one ever
