I thought we in Switzerland solve Problems, not making them worse like the USA. Apparently i was wrong.

  1. They seem to be perfect aligned to where it doesn’t rain, why should this be bad for homeless? They have a sleeping place in almost every City even small ones.

  2. There are no homeless in Switzerland. Those people begging are just “poor” Swiss who need a little extra cash to fuel up their second Ferrari. This is known.

  3. I have seen some of them in Zug (different design) and I have been told they are made this way to allow people in a wheelchair to sit next to their family / friends.

  4. Step 1: Build anti-homeless architecture
Step 2: Get criticized by the left & applauded by the right
Step 3: Rebrand it as “anti-corona-architecture”
Step 4: Get criticized by the right & applauded by the left
    Step 5: Profit

  5. Switzerland is the most pro homeless country ever, nobody needs to sleep outside because our government pays for everything if you have nothing.

  6. There is plenty hostile anti-sleep-on-this-bench architecture in Switzerland, but these look more like anti-idiots-in-cars-driving-into-my-hedge-but-we-might-as-well-makem-useful-to-sit-on architecture to me.

  7. With 0.2 homelessness rate and being the 2 most advanced country in the human development index I really doubt that shit is anti-something.
Your assumption needs proof or it’s just bullshit

  8. In Switzerland you’re only homeless because you want to (vagabonds) or because you’ve completely trashed the appartment that the government has paid for you. Nobody needs to be homeless, the government will give you enough money for an apartment, health insurance and basic needs. A lot of the beggars you see here are members of beggar clans from eastern Europe that neither seek asylum nor are registered.

  9. there are currently ~2’200 homeless people in switzerland. there are places where you can find shelter in switzerland, so nobody should have to suffer from homelessness. people who are homeless in switzerland don’t want to take this help / are from a different country and can’t find the needed help / are choosing to live on the streets. I highly doubt that this design is chosen to keep homeless people away.

  10. No, these benches reflect the swiss population.
Why would you choose to sit next to unknown people?

Also in trains everyone chooses a free seat compartment if possible

  11. What homeless? There are shelters and social help. There are no homeless people in Switzerland. The beggars in the streets are ‚hired workers‘ of semi-criminal organizations that control their own parts of the city.

  12. Was just in Bern and a 2 m bench had one armrest right in the middle. Providing one person an armrest while also making it impossible to sleep on (to safe the image of the city from those filthy humans)
