I thought that the cordon sanitair around Vlaams Belang existed because they are a racist party and in particular their immigration policy doesn’t adhere to the European human rights treaty.
As far as I know, PTB is pretty progressive in regards to immigration and is not at all a racist party. Is there anything else in their program that justifies excluding them from participating in a government in regards to human rights violations.
Or has being called an ‘extreme’ party become the reason to exclude PTB from government?

VB are a bunch of opportunists and it’s NVA the largest party in Flanders that actually wants independence eg act like pouty children and point the finger at Walloon to distract voters from their own incompetence.

I know people don’t want to hear this but I agree:
A federal government with VB is not going to happen for obvious reasons.
A federal government with PVDA/PTB is not going to happen because they’ll never be able to defend compromising on their program to such an extend it will become palatable for the economic-liberal parties (OVLD, MR, NVA,…) to their base.
A coalition involving the PS/spa is also not realistic as PTB and PS/spa are largely competing for the same voters, the PS/spa will never allow the PTB to be anything but a protest party.
It’s no surprise ps/spa has been particularly fierce in putting away a vote for PTB as not realistic or indirectly helping “big money”/Flemish separatism/… (case in point: this article)
I don’t really see a solution here.
I also wonder what would happen if we will have to go through multiple successive early elections:
Will people start to vote for “compromise” parties?
Or will we vote more and more for the parties like VB/PTB?
