If this was the incident I think it was then I remember discussing it on this sub when it happened.
People were understandably concerned that it might be treated as any other motoring offence with what is frequently viewed as absurdly lenient sentencing when it appeared to be a deliberate act that could have had fatal consequences.
I commented at the time that as it was in Scotland then there was a possibility of prosecuting it as an offence such as reckless conduct which carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
I’d forgotten about the case until now but it appears that’s how the Crown Office & Procurator Fiscal Service decided to charge and prosecute the matter.
Ten years is probably a good sentence. I’ve known plenty of people who’ve been done for either attempted murder or culpable homicide who’ve received shorter sentences.
