I wonder how many DM readers are overweight and moan about everything?

[Teenage Girls Serving in British Army Report Record Levels of Sexual Assault](https://www.vice.com/en/article/xgydwj/british-army-sexual-assault).
> VICE World News can reveal that a record number of teenagers have reported harassment – which are dismissed as “just banter” – even as the military tries to recruit more women.
> A record number of teenage girls under the age of 18 serving in the British military have reported being sexually assaulted and raped while training in the last year, VICE World News can reveal.
Bloody soft teenagers. Always moaning about being raped.
Life expectancy in the UK has flattened off considerably in the last decade and actually dropped by about 6 months in the last 2 years, obviously with some impact from the pandemic.
Still promoting physical fitness is probably not a terrible stance to take.

‘I have no one left to shout at so now I am shouting at Daily Mail readers’
How is this “news”?
Seriously. Who gives a flying fuck what some random squadie thinks? Oh it’s the Daily Mail…
That photo oh my goodness! Positively moist! He looks in pretty good shape for his age, having been through two world wars
British army instructor moans….about people who moan.
The MoD needs to start enforcing “talk to the press and you’re fucked” rules again
”But he pointed out that this was just his opinion, and that regardless of the state of the new recruits, the army has rigorous training and vetting procedures that mean all serving members end up in tip-top condition.”
Oh, so what he’s actually saying is he needs promo for his business
Do new recruits actually join the army whilst in terrible physical shape? If I wanted to join, I would first make sure I have a decent physical fitness…
Also I think this is a valid conversation to be having, as much as people in this sub will disagree. If we move towards a more “obese” society as a result of extreme “body positivity”, are we all happy to be paying more taxes for the NHS to deal with the resulting health issues?
I’m curious to know how much pressure would be taken off hospitals if everyone did a moderate amount of exercise each day / followed a healthy diet.
EDIT: in fact no need, this [government page](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/health-matters-obesity-and-the-food-environment/health-matters-obesity-and-the-food-environment–2) talks about obesity & the cost on the NHS.
*”Failing to address the challenge posed by the obesity epidemic will place an even greater burden on NHS resources. It is estimated that the NHS spent £6.1 billion on overweight and obesity-related ill-health in 2014 to 2015.*
*Annual spend on the treatment of obesity and diabetes is greater than the amount spent on the police, the fire service and the judicial system combined.”*
Well they aren`t wrong. That`s for sure.
Whilst I think body positivity (when that means celebrating obesity) is daft and unhelpful, that is not even close to being the primary reason so many people are overweight.
The rest of his message is one alt-right cliche after another. Boring, unoriginal squaddie.
If he’s that enthusiastic he should take on the fast food chains, and supermarkets who pedal processed foods, and the government for allowing this because they want to keep us fed, stupid and weak.
Root and stem, bollock-chops, root and stem.
Are there more “body positivity” influencers, or overly thin influencers doing aspirational bullshit content with expensive cars and clothes?
And that’s before we mention the horribly insidious trend of pro-ana.

>The fitness, pictured, instructor says that while army recruits are given training, leaving them in ‘tip top’ condition, the public does not
Well, we don’t need the general public in tip top condition, just in reasonable condition. We don’t need them ready to deploy FFS.
Funny how when he does it, the Mail calls it “blasting” or “slamming” instead of moaning..
Now I’m not saying he’s necessarily wrong, not in the army myself….
But he does sound like he’s doing a fair bit of moaning himself 😂
He needs to take on Big Food, Tories and Capitalism.
They are the ones poisoning everyone with processed food and the Daily Mail helps them.
What makes this all the more funny is that the Daily Mail reading demographic is likely to be a particularly fat one – and as for moaning? isn’t frothing at the mouth in outrage an essential part of the Daily Mail reading experience? reading the Daily Mail one hardly gets a sense of a well adjusted, serene and happy readership…
Oh good our daily dose of hate from the Mail.
I really wish people would stop posting links to Daily Mail news stories. It’s all complete bollocks designed to rile up their readership and people give way too much time to discussing the Mail and their antics. I would love to see UK based subs ban linking to Daily Mail stories. They are not reputable news source and it’s just giving the trolls what they want.
I know that PT and he’s one of those push yourself to the limits wankers who thinks anyone who isn’t living 100% to the limit is a loser.
Most toxic kind of masculity fitness guys
I get a totally different outlook thrown in my face, I never see these posts about celebs saying eat what you want or body positivity. It’s all you should be doing a 9/5 job not taking shit from anyone, going to gym after work for 2 hours, cook a healthy meal using only the finest ingredients that takes 1 hour to prep/cook, 10 mins to eat and 30 mins to clean up afterwards. Then I need to go out and have a social life and get time in for hobbies, so I need 2 hours a day to practice guitar and 2 hours a day to play video games to destress, then I need 8 hours of sleep a night and wake up at 6am for a jog.
Say what you want about him but when it comes to war, we all want guys like this to be out fighting. You don’t want someone who is overweight, can’t run a mile, can’t lift anything and will scoff at any kind of exertion.
The British military has been taking unfit and malnourished recruits in for centuries
Just because he had a 20 yr window when that wasn’t the case doesn’t make it normal
The army used to have to feed people up before they could even push them too hard because people were so malnourished
Speaking as a naturally hefty, chonky, fat beefy bear guy(who also has a significantly smaller than average erect penis) etc Let me be the first to say(and I speak from experience) that the Body Positivity Movement is not a thing for men, it really doesn’t exist. Quite frankly the Body Positive Movement is exclusively for women, our culture/society has made that very clear.
He looks like the kind of guy who contributes to the sexual assault endemic in the army
