Hi everyone, since we are in a high danger of wild fire fires are strictly prohibited in forest / near forest.
But does this prohibition apply to proper installation at home as well ?
If you have a reference that confirm or infirm that ?

I haven’t seen anything indicating a fire ban away from forests. I did have a charcoal grill running in a category 4 fire risk area the other day and my local buenzlis didn’t call the fire department.
Keep in mind the dry grass and trees etc. around your home are also at risk. Use of common sense regarding the conditions around where you want to grill is encouraged. Having something hand to squash a smoldering bit of grass or so is wise.
Let’s look at the Valais page. The whole cantons is under level 6, which is:
>Interdiction générale de faire du feu
Which means:
>General fire ban.
And if we check further in:
>L’interdiction générale d’allumer des feux à l’extérieur s’étend à tous les types de feux à l’extérieur et a pour objectif de prévenir des situations potentiellement à haut risque d’incendie de forêt.
>
>The general ban on outdoor fires extends to all types of outdoor fires and is intended to prevent potentially high-risk forest fire situations.
Any outside fires are banned.
Around here, thw details are regulated by the village/town/commune. So maybe they their website or give them a call tomorrow.
From what I see here: Wood fires are out (sparks, I guess) gas & electric grillsate ok, charcoal can be allowed or forbidden.
Look, if they say fires are banned they do it for a reason.
You may not cause a fire from your BBQ at home, but some idiot trying to make also a BBQ after smelling that you make one may cause exactly such fire.
It’s a chain you cannot control. Just wait until authorities say it’s ok again.
In the meantime: Try master the broiler from your oven at home. It can make some smokey flavours if you know how. And otherwise, liquid smoke and oven, braised Brisket go a long way until it’s safe to make them outdoor again.
Does this apply for gas grills as well? Thanks
It depends on where you live / plan to have a barbecue (canton and municipality). Best check the website of your municipality (Gemeinde) for details.
or you know. just do it.
Here the details from canton Valais:
German [https://www.vs.ch/de/web/sfnp/generelles-feuerverbot](https://www.vs.ch/de/web/sfnp/generelles-feuerverbot)
French [https://www.vs.ch/fr/web/sfnp/interdiction-generale-du-feu](https://www.vs.ch/fr/web/sfnp/interdiction-generale-du-feu)
Who ever makes use of an exemption is fully liable. Allowed are electric grills and gas grills used on a fire proof underground. Any flammable surface or vegetation such as dry grass, trees, and bushes must be at least 10 m away. Keep water and or fire extinguisher close by.
Forbidden are also fireworks, snipping burning cigarette butts from your car (actually always forbidfen), and sky lanterns.
