She picked a punk song. A German being into techno, dance or punk seems really unsurprising. She’d have been in her late teens and early 20s as punk will be the sounds of her youth – could have been ABBA and euro disco.
Next lot will be power ballads, Duran Duran, early rap (some elderly politician is dancing to MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice), soft metal, etc.
Then you’ll have the Brit pop, oasis, grunge, beasty boy resurgence, Björk, Dance ramping up. You know propper music.
Then the rise of the boy band and pop stars and music you can’t hear the words to and is far to loud on the bus, these damn kids today don’t know real music… and found my era.
