36 hours is more than enough time, especially if you’re allowed to self-power your travel. Supposedly Seamus Ennis would start cycling from Dublin in the morning and be in Galway by the afternoon. I’ve usually had good luck getting lifts, and there’s a decent chance you get lucky and get the whole way in one go. Seems like fun anyway!
Very easy to cheat and just arrange for someone you know to drive ya

I thought that it was illegal to hitchhike these days hmm maybe not. Or at very least a good way to get assaulted. I certainly wouldn’t pick any one up by myself.
