Yeah, makes sense. It’s pretty historically loaded, all things considered. I used to like listening to the anthem and reminisce about the flag as a kid (yes, yes, I would get teased for acting like an old man on multiple occasions). Once shouted down some colleague who didn’t know the anthem… But c’mon, how can you not know your own country’s anthem?!

The flag represents all our nations symbols and regions. Checker board is like an old croatian symbol, and the crown is (left to right): oldest croatian coat of arms, republic of dubrovnik, dalmatia, istria and slavonia.
Edit: i just noticed its actually turned the wrong way in the picture
I was in Switzerland and I don’t know much about the country, but heir flag is a big plus
