EU passport rule that’s catching out thousands of travellers

  1. > EU countries have adopted the Schengen passport rules for British passport holders. This means that your passport must be:

    * Issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country. Check the ‘date of issue’.

    * Valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave. Check the ‘expiry date’.

  2. Typically crap headline as the article offers no evidence that thousands of people are being caught out it merely says

    >However, new post-Brexit European Union passport rules are **expected** to catch out thousands of unwitting travellers

  3. My brother was turned away from going to Spain because he only had two months left on his passport. On the website it’s about 10 paragraphs devoted to covid and at the bottom of the page it says must be over three months before expiry. So that was fun for him. What a ridiculous and arbitrary rule.
