I support the creation of an “EU PASSPORT HOLDERS ONLY” car lane. This will speed things up a bit.
Perhaps reciprocal arrangements are due. Such as removing the EU from the automated channels at UK passport control. We kept that going when many EU airports closed theirs. A few weeks of that and hopefully grown-ups might start taking charge on both sides of the Channel and stop the petty bollocks.
The French border protection folks are making the US CBP folks look positively pleasant. They are officious dickheads of the highest order.
And they even have a land as well as sea borders. Four thousand kilometers of land borders with 11 countries!

Always had easy control. They told us to send our military and officials to their border to control their side of the deal despite already giving them money towards it.
Having massive camps and people clambering onto the backs of lorries and into cargo, people pulling a Walliams across the sea, absolute full control. They’re totally fine with that cause to them it’s not a problem.

It’s estimated there are around 300,000 – 400,000 unauthorised immigrants living in France as of 2017
It’s easy to delay legit holiday makers going through legit customs. Not so easy to 100% completely control physical borders.
I feel like this headline is recycled, didn’t someone use the same one when they locked the borders during the height of the pandemic.
Something we saw on a larger scale during the pandemic, where EU countries managed to close their borders to other EU countries.
Maybe if the British government had controlled the borders Brexit wouldn’t have happened.
And yet their shores are teaming with immigrants desperate to get to the UK… fantastic border control by the other several EU countries these people had to cross in order to get there lol

Did Brexiters realise their opportunities in life would be restricted after Brexit?
This doesn’t make any sense. France has this control of this border *because* we left the EU. Why would a “Brexiter” be stunned by that?
Isn’t this basically the same controls that are in place in marseilles for ferries coming in from Algeria?
But why. Denmark has had extremely strict immigration control, and a points based immigration system, and border control, despite being in schengen.. for more than 10 years.
Its extremely demanding to immigrate to Denmark.
But nobody bothered to do any digging or understand the topics within the EU before voting Brexit.
My brexiteer inlaw, was stunned when I told him about the danish after Brexit…
He voted brexit, when a large part of the family are from the EU…
We moved to Denmark. Cuz our lives got exponential worse after brexit. However now it is great. The Danes have been very accepting of my UK spouse, no problems!

other monetary interests could continue in their course totally
unobserved. Standard politicians double-talk. Politicians love to sound
straight forward and say “it’s the right thing to do”, because it gives
them virtue, while they lie.

It was interesting listening to Radio 4 yesterday when the French mayor of that region was talking. The smugness was palpable – you can be sure they are being difficult on purpose to prove a point.
