Cool, energy/climate change is the one thing we do ok on. Just wish that it meant our energy prices would go down once it’s all done lol
I can think of sunnier places
I will freely quote an activist: “They should have waited for SMR which will come in 2030 and use natural gas in the meantime”, that’s what he told me…
??? Why is his news? 20MW is nothing, not even for a solar farm, even here in Hungary we have many of that size, and larger ones as well.
Thats not a large solar farm.
Have other farm comparison ?
There is so much potential for solar even without bigger projects. Parking lots and roofs are some of the most obvious currently underutilized areas were there should be solar panels.
Manufacturing of solar panes isn’t even all that expensive anymore and mostly fully automated. There really ought to be solar panel manufacturing within Europe.
I think people are just reading the title and misunderstanding the point. This is just to power a factory that produces the Nissan Leaf electric vehicle.
People who are pointing out that it’s nothing – like, yeah? I suppose, but it’s not for residential energy use. Secondly, the UK has 14GW of solar installed – this isn’t exactly the UK’s first step into solar power.
