Really cool,.OP! Where did you get the data on the speeds?
La Panne
Menin? Maatje ik apprecieer de map, heel interessant maar niet de stadsbenamingen!
Cool map! You could update the part between Essen and Roosendaal(NL) to a more yellowish hue, it is 125km/h
Except Brussels – Lille, speeds in reality everywhere is blue right?
Train from Mouscron to Lille has a max speed of 100km/h in France.
Line 130 is 120 km/h between Charleroi and Tamines, and 100 km/h between Tamines and Namur. (at least in theory, bc some sections are 80 km/h now due to old infrastructure)
I love how the nmbs works
When I was studying (10years ago already), every day I took the train from Aarschot to Antwerp. In my first year, this ride was officially 31 minutes. And 4 out of 5 times we had a delay of 5minutes max.
A few years later. They changed the schedules (like they do every year). And now, this ride was 40 minutes officially. Also, my train was (almost) never late again. And at the end of the year NMBS proudly said in their year report “trains ride xx% more on time than last year”
You must have been very bored
Nice that you still include L163. I don’t think there are even any tracks left there.
So the line to the coast is 140km/h but the dorsale wallonne is 100km/h on some sections. Really tells you the priorities.
Am disappointed to see how Wallonia’s got such poor connectivity over all.
This map isn’t correct so don’t take this as fact. I see many mistakes. But good effort! OP if you want to update this map then I can provide you with the correct speeds. But it isn’t simple as many tracks have several maximum speeds on different sections of that track.
