Tere! Needing some advice from locals here.

My background: 10+ years of Project Management experience in South America, the last 5 as Head of Customer Success in a fast growing startup. I can speak English and Portuguese fluently, plus some Spanish and a little bit of French.

I’m currently in the interviewing process for a position in Tallinn. The company is looking for an experienced Head of Account Management to lead the European AM and CS teams. If I land this job, I’ll be managing over 60 people in Estonia, London and Portugal and will report directly to a C-level executive. I’m feeling good about this one since they are willing to help me relocate and the recruiter actually invited me to do my own salary research, so here I am.

I’m having trouble understanding what is the pay like in Estonia, especially in Tallinn. The information I could find online is conflicting at best: [Palgad.ee](https://palgad.ee/en/salaryinfo/management/head-of-customer-support?search=1) tells me I shouldn’t expect to earn more than 2 700 EUR/month for that kind of work, but the incomes reported to the company’s page on Glassdoor seem to be much higher (up to 7 500 EUR/month for some top guns). Other Estonian tech companies [are following suit](https://glassdoor.com/Salaries/tallinn-head-customer-success-salary-SRCH_IL.0,7_IM1385_KO8,29.htm).

What do you guys think? Is it unreal for me to ask for something around 6 500 ~ 7 000 EUR/month? Any insights will be greatly appreciated. Aitäh!

  1. 6-7k is an unreal salary. Not saying it’s completely out of the question for key employees in rich startups, but the other expectation from palgad.ee is closer to realistic. Perhaps somewhere in the middle.

  2. well. are we talking startup or not? if startup, 6500 is a little ambitious, but somewhere around 4000-5000 is not entirely unreasonable. if not startup, that level should still be higher-ish, but more around 3000.

  3. I’d say don’t trust palgad.ee that much. Glassdoor is a better place for that kind of research. I’m not super familiar with your line of work, but i have a difficult time believing a company would pay 6-7k€ for a senior management position in Estonia. Could be wrong tho, but I’d estimate between 3-4k€. If they want you and you have a proven track record, then I’d say ask for what you think you deserve. The worst they can do is just make you a lower offer.
