When the members go to vote even if a majority of them write in Boris Johnson they’ll just be recorded as spoiled. It’s only his position as Conservative leader that’s under threat – losing the office of PM stems from the likelihood of ceasing to be Conservative leader – him continuing as such is little more unusual than Corbyn staying on after he won the leadership election after the confidence motion among MPs in 2016.
This country is about to get a whole lot darker, and there will be power cuts too
