  1. Shame for Ukraine, but as things stand it makes complete sense, let’s be honest.

For those wondering, they’ll get automatic qualification to the Finals despite not hosting the event.

  2. At the risk of sounding like a sore loser, is it fair to say that the UK entry won on merit anyway?

The Ukraine entry was great and I’m pleased they won as a symbolic show of support, but would it have won otherwise? Happy to be disagreed with!

  3. So they need to pick a city, unfortunately I’d imagine the odds on anywhere other than Manchester or London are going to be very slim

  4. Out of interest and in no way am I trying to be a dick. Where does the money come from for Eurovision? Say we were hosting it for ourselves, does the government front the cost of hosting?

  5. I was watching it this year with my 8 year old and she absolutely loved it. After the second song asked if I could take her to the Eurovision. I told her “Of course”, thinking that with the UKs track record there is no way that promise is ever going to come and bite me in the ass….

  6. Wonder who will be the host? British or Ukrainian presenters? Or a mix of both? Any UK TV presenters out there with Ukrainian roots.

  7. Very proud to host. And I think a 50/50 display of UK and Ukraine culture could be the best act of peace in a difficult situation.

  8. I would like to put my coin in for it to be hosted by Aberdeen.

Brand new event building holds 15k
Right next door to airport for easy access for the celebs etc
Right next door to multiple big hotels for the tourism
The AWPR bypass for easy access into and out of the city
Lots of land around arena for the press and TV crews vans etc
