  1. For reference the estimated TOTAL membership numbers are 180,000 – 200,000~

So this would be about 5% signing this petition.

Make of that what you will.

  2. “it says both Labour’s Harold Wilson and Winston Churchill served second terms after being removed and refers to a comment made by Mr Johnson in his final PMQs, which many believe indicates a desire to return.”

And both of those example were in extremely different circumstances.

  3. What’s the cutoff for joining the party in order to vote in the contest?

I’d be willing to join solely to vote for Johnson so that the party implodes.

  4. Johnson got 92,153 votes in the 2019 leadership contest.

So the vast, vast majority of Conservative Party members who voted for him last time have not given any kind of signal suggesting that they would like him to stay on as Prime Minister.

  5. Honestly can we refer each and every person on that list to a psychiatric ward? They need help. I’m not even saying this to be edgy, they genuinely need some sort of help.

  6. What happens when Boris is no longer leader of the Conservative Party (either Truss or Sunak win), but he refuses to relinquish the officer of Prime Minister?

The post of PM is appointed by the Queen to the leader of the party whom can govern the country, but I don’t know how that would work practically.

  7. I am curious if he is plotting a comeback of some kind, it wont be easy for him. He will be gone by September and I cant see the Tory party having another leadership election before 2024, at which point Boris will have to pray that Labour win. If they do a bad job of it a return to leader of the party might be possible for Johnson and, if so, he may have his return in 2029.

We’ll know his intentions by if he stays on as an MP, and stands in 2024. He never struck me as someone genuinely passionate about government so he’s not going to stay for any reason other than power.

  8. Do people even realize that it is not necessary to even be a British citizen to join and have a vote! Anyone, of any nationality living abroad, can join ” Conservatives Abroad”, and vote to choose the next leader. Just think about it …you don’t have to be a conspiracy theorist to spot the possibilities …

  9. It would literally kill if any respect other countries have for us, and cement our place as a clown country.

  10. thank the gods for these people. its been a constant worry of mine that the inner party would try and scape-goat boris for all the problems when the rot is utterly endemic.

  11. I can already seeing him preparing his re-election speech trying to create a soundbite in the opening line:

    > Guess who’s back? Back again…

  12. 10,000 of the stupidest human beings in the UK. Please deport these ignorant bastards to Rwanda and let 10,000 asylum seekers in to the country to take their place.

  13. Petition
Revoke Article 50 and remain in the EU.
    6,103,056 signatures

    Petition
EU Referendum Rules triggering a 2nd EU Referendum

  14. The man hated the job and only wanted it for bragging rights. He would only come back if there was a guarantee of victory, he would not risk embarrassment by coming back and losing to someone like Truss or Sunak. He might come back but he will bide his time, keep quiet and then come out with something like “Remember how good it was under me?” That is when he will talk about the brief window between Brexit and COVID as a golden era for Britain and make himself seem like the second coming of Jesus. He is smart enough to know now is not the time to come back, he will wait for Sunak or Truss to screw things up first.

  15. I prefer Boris to the 2 that are running, but am not a member of any political party.
The debate has just started and Rishi has irked me already.

  16. I was hoping that the party would continue to shoot itself in the foot and I am happy to be right. The more of this the better, let them be divided.

  17. I already find it a joke than after about 6 years of running the nation to the ground, you still can’t vote for a new MP and these keep cycling and cycling.
