  1. Those people are so removed from reality its realy weird.

Now christmas is racist or what? Why remove christmas?

Coz others dont celebrate it? So we cant celebrate it?

Remove individuality for inclusivity. How disgusting.

But good to know where their prioritys are. I used to like the eu but its getting harder every day.

  2. Damn, those people truly get triggered by everything.
“Maybe say happy holidays when you don’t know what religion the person you’re talking to is a part of.”
“Reeee, how dare you cancelling muh Christmas?”
It’s basically the same reaction a bunch of people showed when those guidelines showed up on the front page yesterday. Bunch of snowflakes.

  3. The proposal is little different from using ‘partner’ instead of husband or wife when asking someone a question to avoid the awkwardness when it turns out your assumption they were heterosexual proves to be incorrect.

This no more cancels heterosexual marriage than recognising that not everyone celebrates Christmas cancels Christmas.

It’s just about not making assumptions about other people.

  4. I don’t care who says it but this “happy holiday” shit can stay in the US for all I care. I’m not even religious but I’m sure as hell not going to change the way I speak to be more “inclusive”.

I know that many people don’t give a shit about these things anymore but culture and traditions are important and the people complaining here do have a point.

I’m a foreigner living in Austria and it would never come to my mind that the Austrians need to change anything to “include” me more.

  5. They weren’t withdrawn because “the Vatican complained”, but because it was stupid bullshit that anyone with a minimum of brain wouldn’t have approved…

  6. It’s a draft for guidelines for internal communication. Only relevant for people working within the EU administration.

I guess people are pretty desperate when it comes to finding reasons to be outraged.

  7. The fact that BOTH SIDES would spend more than 1min on it, and that somebody decided it’s important to write an article about it is just retarded.

Who cares if it’s called “holidays”, “christmas” or “fucking buy all our shit before the end of the year season”?

The last name probably is the most appropriate one since that’s what’s happening.

What is even more mind boggling is why Vatican that is not a EU member state, has a say what happens in EU? I’d actually like to see a vote on this shit in parliament now, to see if Vatican can overrule EU parliament lol. That would be the funniest shit.

(They pulled this trick once, they are excluded from GDPR rules for some reason lol).
