The proposal is little different from using ‘partner’ instead of husband or wife when asking someone a question to avoid the awkwardness when it turns out your assumption they were heterosexual proves to be incorrect.
This no more cancels heterosexual marriage than recognising that not everyone celebrates Christmas cancels Christmas.
It’s just about not making assumptions about other people.
I don’t care who says it but this “happy holiday” shit can stay in the US for all I care. I’m not even religious but I’m sure as hell not going to change the way I speak to be more “inclusive”.
I know that many people don’t give a shit about these things anymore but culture and traditions are important and the people complaining here do have a point.
I’m a foreigner living in Austria and it would never come to my mind that the Austrians need to change anything to “include” me more.
