Love this. Ciarán MacMathúna played a version of this on his final radio broadcast but it was with Paddy Glackin on fiddle rather than Liam o Flynn.
A few years ago I was fortunate to spend the night in a cottage on an Bhlascóid Mór, no electricity, and as night set in watching the lights twinkling from houses on the mainland in Dunquin across the Blasket Sound. I played Port na bPucaí, and thought of this poem.
