Whatever the real story is here, this is what bothers me: the title is a bold accusation that leaves no room for different interpretation. When you want to read the article, you only get to see the first paragraph, then you have to log on. So people read the title and go:”oh ok, left bad.” No fact checking, next stop – reddit comments, where you may end up in partly informed echo chamber of people who only needed to read the title to enforce their already defined opinion.
Regardless of political orientation, I find this a low quality post.

This is happening in many major cities, not just Paris. Some of the policies have clearly failed, but we must not admit that because it would be bigoted and racist. So people will keep voting in the same parties and people responsible for these developments of recent decades. In fact, let me strike that remark about people. In big cities, the left could have a demented penguin as a candidate and they would still win every election.
France could use some decentralisation.
If “the people” are fleeing, why couldn’t I find any affordable housing when I tried.

What’s holding me is that my friends’ reports. Apparently Paris is full of Parisians. Like, you can turn around and suddenly be surrounded by Parisians. 😎
