Worth noting they are all regarded as low risk

  1. Limerick is perfectly safe and has been for years – I’ve never lived there but I had many a night out down there with friends who were living there.

There is of course areas you’d be advised to stay out of but that goes for anywhere in the world really.

  2. They don’t provide any sources other than saying they check crime stats and run a “unique algorithm”, not exactly peer reviewed hard hitting stuff.

  3. I was in cork last month. I was walking when I saw a kid sucker punching a defenseless homeless guy in front of tons of people and his scumbag friend laughing recording for TikTok.
I’ve seen a lot of shit in my life but this was the ultimate level of scumbagness and cowardly

  4. cork isn’t perfect, but in general there is a lot less violence than dublin, there is robberies and scummers, but there is a lot less of them and they aren’t as aggressive

  5. What’s the story with Brussels? Threat of terrorism? I was just there and I think it feels very safe. Certainly not gangs of feral teens roaming the streets like in Dublin.

  6. Years ago when i came to Ireland people wouold say Limerick was the Detroit of Ireland. Pretty sure it doesnt apply like that anymore, and not sure if im right but i think especially after 2008 crash when there was a lot of movement between areas, some better neighborhoods became worse, bad ones became better.

  7. Recently had my stag do in Limerick city and I genuinely loved every minute of it. Even though I was from Mayo ( we made sure we sang the green and red as loud as possible in the pub), brilliant craic and lovely people.

Walked back to our accommodation and very quiet. Definitely will go back for a night out.

  8. Going to lay this out for people. I’ve asked nearly all my friends and family if Dublin is getting worse and there answers are usually all “yes”. In the past year multiple people I know have either been assaulted or robbed not just in the city but on public transport at all hours of the day and night. I’ve experienced getting stabbed at one point by a pathetic teen scumbag. It is absolute hell having to look over my shoulder every time I get onto public transport and walking around town knowing those young scum are walking the streets without being in jail purely because of their age. If you ask someone who hasn’t been assaulted, robbed or stabbed the common answer will probably be “Dublin is safer than it was years ago” rubbish.

  9. Galway has improved alot recently ever since the massive bust ups in super Mac’s way more guards everywhere and about it’s good to see but before like even 4 weeks ago it was mega rough.

  10. Limerick has 2 microbreweries and a fancy Dunnes. I think per capita were much fancier than the rest of the cities 😂

  11. People say Dublin’s bad and a dump but the last time I was in Cork in November the city centre was full of dirty junkies, drunks and dodgy people. This was at 20:00 on a Monday evening. It was a lot worse than Dublin. Luckily I’ve been to Cork before so I really hope this was a one off but if this was my first impression I wont be back in a hurry

  12. Limerick reminds me of Leeds and its no more dangerous either. Both are safe cities, both have rough areas and both reputations that are exaggerated

  13. On the same week an innocent man had his head danced on by 10 cunts in Dublin’s business centre and ended in critical care

Yeah, you can fuck off with this “report”

  14. Idk what’s happened to cork. I know there is a increase in meth and crack use.

There needs to be a serious talk about youths causing violence. It was never this bad
