After visiting Lauterbrunnen yesterday, I can honestly say mass tourism is terrifying. It’s sprawling beyond the land’s carrying capacity.

  1. – shot taken at the Bahnhof

More highways, more large hotels and parking lots: is this a sustainable strategy for the future of our Alpine wonderland? 🤮

  2. 1) its summer 2) its Holiday Season 3) you visiting a Place that would not excist without tourism. 4) you are obvious part of your own Problem why not going in Sept or oct.

  3. how Dramatic OP is, mass tourism is terrifying he says and proceeds to photograph so many people without their knowledge/ consent. and your Flair indicates you’re from Geneve so Are you saying rules for thee but not for me? because you’re part of tourism when you travel from geneve all the way to lauterbrunnen lol

  4. Lauterbrunnen is where people change trains from the BOB to the WAB train (they run on different track gauge, so there is no possibility of through-trains), the cablecar to get to Mürren and the postbus further up the valley. It’s 18.00, so a natural time for people on a day trip, or who have been up in the mountains but are staying in the town, to be heading for home. Considering the restaurants, shops and other tourist attractions in those various towns and associated areas, that number of people would be a fraction of what these facilities can accommodate, and they provide income for the people living there. Before the advent of tourism, the mountain valleys in those areas were extremely impoverished areas, with only very marginal farming able to support the populations. All of these people are choosing to travel to these places by environmentally friendly electric trains, and a significant number will be Swiss people choosing to use electric trains for a domestic leisure activity rather than driving or getting on an aeroplane to head somewhere much further away.

  5. Looks great to me. They are travelling by train which is the second best thing after walking to the environment. What do you prefer? All these people flying to Malaga?

  6. I see in this image alone around CHF 10k in ticket revenue for the Jungfraubahn. And that’s why it won’t get any better probably.

  7. OP is certified dickhead.

There is a reason why the properties and land in that place are worth millions and no one is complaining besides some one who is contributing too the issue they are stating.

It hurts when you fall from a horse no matter how high. I hope your horse is the highest and you believe you horse is higher than that. Buffoon.
