Shamrock Rovers have guaranteed themselves Europa Conference League Football this year and are into a Playoff for the Europa League. €3.3m earned at a minimum. Massive for the club and League Of Ireland in general!

  1. Great result for them but is it not a bit detrimental for the league (apart from coefficient)? As in that they would have significantly more financial power now than other clubs.

  2. Pats can also do the business on Thursday and get to the ECL play off, which would be a massive boon against relatively elite opposition.

Best of luck to Rovers in the EL playoff.

  3. The thing that annoys me is why doesn’t the league of Ireland champions automatically qualify for the Champions League? We’ve been as high as 6th in the FIFA world rankings and yet have not had a single league of Ireland team qualify for the Champions league, while Scotland have been ranked as high as 13 and at one stage their league champions automatically qualified for the Champions league, while their runners up entered the qualifying stages.

  4. Hungarian champions Ferencváros are their next opponents if anyone is looking to book their flight to Budapest.

They lost their qualifier to Qarabağ this evening

  5. Not a Rovers fan, a LoI fan, or a football fan in general, but love to see Irish teams do well and get well deserved recognition for their hard work and perseverance

  6. Nothing great about this for the league itself when it comes to other teams competing for it. Excellent for Rovers and congrats to them. They are being ran, it seems, how many before them should have. But still will leave others in the shit while they go on and dominate for years to come. FAI should be ashamed for not supporting our National league the way they should

  7. As someone that has no idea, how do you follow this? Can you watch it back? Is there a table or a ladder I can check out?
