Going to be a lot of this, given the way inflation is going.
I wonder why they don’t strike in August?
Dead right. 5% over 2 years is a joke.
Before the teacher bashing starts, note that all public sector unions will be doing this.
Going to ask a stupid question, if a union goes on strike, do non union members show up for work as normal on a strike day?
The dance or …?
If they would strike for lower book costs/generic uniform as well, they’d get more support.
Again, I love how I find this out over social media. I don’t have any emails about it. It was mentioned a while ago but like 😅
Besides the holidays I can’t see why anybody would want to be a teacher. There’s no money would pay me. Give the fuckers the few euro. I imagine most die young from some stress related illness.
The average gross salaries for primary teachers in Ireland in 2019 and 2020 was €58,975 – the fourth highest in the EU – ranging from teachers aged 25-34 earning €49,529 on average to those aged 55-64 earing €73,747.
