  1. When they make a decent adaptation of his book of interest maybe a few people will dress up as the main characters too. 😂

  2. Better to dress as a fictional character once a year, than to live your whole life worshipping one.

  3. Not a very christian attitude at all. Wasn’t Jesus a grown man, no job or wife, meeting up with the lads, always talking about some trilogy.

  4. God forbid people might have actual hobbies to distract themselves from how shit life is these days.

Also, pity he wasn’t at Q-Con in June, there was a lad walking around dressed as Jesus.

  5. “There’s guys out there enjoying their lives and bringing joy to others. I can’t believe this.”

  6. Ah, sure they are only big dirty liars. They are claiming to get 90K readers a week, but my tools tell me they get just above 30K a month on a GOOD month. Lying is a sin, folks.

  7. Maybe he should check out the garb on priests every Sunday. Or head over to the Vatican for the ultimate in cosplay.

  8. There are grown men – actual fully-formed adults – outside **__________ Stadium dressed up as what looks like players from a football team**. What a time to be alive. 😛

  9. I’m a good few years old now and cosplay wouldn’t be on my radar but I took the kids in on Saturday and it was wonderful. Lovely vibe, lovely people. And the work that went into some of those costumes was incredible.

  10. Maybe he is just confused. I mean they werent even trying to get anyone to drink blood while grifting them.

  11. It’s times like this where I remember a George Bernard Shaw quote –

“We don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing.”

  12. As a head up, I am a cosplayer who builds big costumes and am I guess a big part of the community.

Someone like this tearing people having a good time down is just really sad and disrespectful.

The community is just trying to have a good time, sharing their passion for the culture and for making and we don’t need media outlets dragging us down because of their own pre conceived notions.

If Michael wants he can come out to my workshop and I can show him the joy it gives me and my friends.

    Peace out nerds.

  13. Yes and you listen to wizards dressed in black capes talking about an interdimensional being who created arbitrary concepts of good an evil to monkeys who use ground up dinosaurs to drive Honda civics.

  14. But getting shitfaced every weekend and cheering a bunch of guys kicking a ball around is somehow classed as being ‘normal’ and ‘well-adjusted’

  15. Doesn’t matter what you enjoy or believe in once your hurting nobody else. If the catholic church lived by this rule the world would be a happier place.

  16. Yeah, talk about a time to be alive when you still have to talk sense into grown men like himself about the current times we live in. Spoiler: it’s 2022. Never even heard of this Michael Kelly lad before but not surprised the word ”catholic” is associated with him.

  17. I was there on Saturday and bring honesy these “full grown adults” wearing costumes know what they’re doing and don’t care, it’s only a bit of Craic. I dressed up this year myself and had a great time. If this guy wants to teach the lessons of christ he should learn that being a prick isn’t what he’d want

  18. I’ve seen grown men in fancy red frocks lying face down on their bellies some of them in their 70,s praying to the Pope who’s in similar gear with a gold staff😂😂😂😂This ain’t cosplay though😂😂
