Most Tory politicians don’t believe the nonsense they come out with. It’s what they have to say to get elected.
> It’s worth noting here that Sunak started out as the “commonsense” candidate, who was going to be “honest” and not depend on “fairytales”.
And it’s also worth noting, when his backers claim that, that he was also fined for Partygate, has refused to answer questions about his American green card implications, has supported Brexit since the start, and stood by Boris throughout most of his mangling of the country.
> The result is a sort of political Ponzi scheme, where bigger and bigger earnings are promised, until the investment is so large that the punters themselves dare not question why their dividends are dwindling.
It’s Emperor’s New Clothes. Only this time a child has already pointed out that the emperor is naked, and the worst of the fawning imbeciles are still claiming he’s not. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, now the two idiot candidates to replace the naked emperor are waving their tackle around to demonstrate how not-naked they are.
They need a distraction from their lack of a plan to tackle the problems. What better than to blame a bogeyman that the media can use for the next six weeks to distract from rising inflation, and potential water and energy rationing?
Culture War games.
The exact same shit the Guardian has been engaging in against trans people for years. Total fucking hypocrites.
It’s telling in the midst of a generational cost of living crisis, war in Europe, product and labour shortages, and breakdowns in key industries like healthcare, transport and logistics that these fuckers keep trying to make this about fringe social issues.
Nobody gives a fuck, let people live their lives, just actually make things better for people rather than trying to make them hate each other.
