Hello all,

For context, I’m trying to book an apartment via HousingAnywhere for my arrival in Germany on 1st September.

I found a good apartment that I can afford, the only confusing part is the Door bell / Mail Box labels.

The apartment is akin to a Hotel converted into furnished temporary flats with a reception on ground floor and simply having numbers like 101, 102, 103 etc on the door bell. [This](https://housinganywhere.com/room/1846140/de/Berlin/rognitzstra-e?sorting=lowToHigh&startDate=2022-09-01) is the apartment.

From what I have read, It is mandatory for me to have my name on the mail box and door bell labels to be able to receive letters and parcels after anmeldung.

The landlord informed me that instead of the mailboxes, the letters and parcels are accepted at the reception.

Would this be a major issue moving forward regarding delivery of important letters from bank, foreigner’s office etc. especially considering that I’m about to book it for next 4-5 months?

  1. Shouldn’t be a real problem, had the same with my student dorm. Use the apartment number as part of street number, for example “Berliner Str. 2/101”. Worked for me without any problems.

  2. For *that* kind of money, there should be some super reliable reception service included!
