I think there is a lot of losses with dereliction. Precious heritage buildings are let fall into ruin, or when renovations are done, they are done with unnecessarily expensive modern methods. We need to upskill in the old methods and get better at prevention of decay. There are many traditional construction trades that are so keen to get new blood and they are good safe reliable careers. They can have huge demand for work.
These are absolutely fantastic. Are shameless plugs allowed in here? My friend has started a site making some beautiful Models of Irish landmarks. An Grianan is my favourite. He will love to see your work.
