“Smiths Medical have been unable to manufacture their usual number of epidural kits for several months amid a worldwide lack of the blue dye used to distinguish epidural syringes from other types, because of their role in locating the epidural space. That has led to a global shortage”
Oh look yet another lack of supplies in the NHS for issues that effect women in a real actual sense
I wonder where the government is on this or are they to busy making up a new evil villain to protect women from instead of actually addressing real issues
So if folks would read the article before commenting – this is a global shortage.
Oh look, another reason not to have a child in this country.
“How can we blame this on trans people while not actually tackling the issue” – The tories rn
They do have supplies of socks and sand though.
I seem to remember news stories about how Brexit will cause medicine shortages, since the NHS used to buy a lot of medicine from Europe who charge far less than alternatives like the US due to EU arrangements.
Seems like this is exactly that happening.
Just go natural
I’ve been warning people of this for at least 1 year.
I work in oncology & palliative care: A few months ago we ran out of oxycodone.
A few months before that we ran out of syringe drivers
Perhaps they could try some healing crystals?
I suppose if they go private, they could get some essential oils to rub onto their bloated tummies, but that’s usually only an option available for the hoity toity. Us regular ordinary folk will just have to make do with slumming it by chomping down on a nice quinoa quiche whilst the midwife helps us to fart out our spawn, as per ushe.
Perhaps conversations with cuba, a country very used to shortages due American sanctions, who have over many years come up with innovative ways treating people with limited supplies.
“Well it would have been worse under Labour” – Dept of Health, probably.
Wants people to have kids > Buy supplies for childbirth
So, who made this ‘difficult decision’? Because they should be named as the reason why. Who are [NHS Supply Chain](https://www.supplychain.nhs.uk/about-us/)? Seems to me they have 6 obfuscated priorities but one of them is eliminating health inequality. Can you get this pain relief on private? I bet you can get it on private….
If I learned anything from the Mentalist is that if you want pain meds you gotta shout as if your life depends on it.
I predict future headlines will read, “Millennials choosing not to have a second child”.
Me due in a few weeks and already stressed: Cool.
