Makes sense why Putin is creating the Ukrainian crisis. To hide this unbelievable failure of the Russian government to save their citizens. At least some of those people would be still alive if they took the vaccine.
This is really sad.
In times like this, I think about all those far-right morons we have here who hate on Macron and what France has become, only to worship Poutine, Russia and their vaccine. Got a cousin like that. Refused to get vaccinated like a fucking crétin, but would consider Sputnik V if it was made available.
I don’t know why, but I cannot share their amazement right now.

It seems it won’t cause much trouble for the Russian government since the majority of the dead were pensioners. Russian pensioners are already like living zombies even without pandemic and the pension fond was strained last years.
In October 2019 a total of 157,679 Russians died. 2 years later in October 2021 a total of 247,197 died, an increase of 89,518. Russia themselves reported 31,283 COVID-19 deaths in October 2021, so that’s an unexplained increase of 58,235 left.
