Asking for a lift from a stranger here in Malta is very uncommon since the transport system is spread throughout everywhere. Wait a little longer it could be a chain of traffic that delays the busses

Its not in our culture. Ingot hitchhiked only by people I know on my way to the bus

It was different in the 90s. As kids we’d have competitions to see who can get to a location and back first by hitch hiking.
I personally wouldn’t do it, but get a cheap taxi probably
I always use the Tallinja app to check the time of next bus, in case i can not wait, use Cool, Bolt or eCabs.
I’ve hitchhiked a couple times in Malta and everything went fine really.
Bus might be diverted for some days without notice due to festa. Happens from time to time.

DONT . Download the app called “Cool” it’s basically a shared cab it’s very convenient and cheaper than all taxis in the market in malta !!
