BBC Radio 5 Live drops classified football results

  1. Well given how many games are not at 3pm on Saturday at least in the Premier League, perhaps no surprise. Indeed that it was not dropped a while ago.

  2. I’m surprised they left it so long, there are far better ways these days of finding out the results of matches “on the day” than tuning in to the radio or TV.

It would have made a lot of sense to broadcast the classified results pre-internet, but not any more.

  3. How daft, this service is needed by those out of range of the internet and driving vehicles. Presumably ex-footballers prattling on about whether or not a yellow card was justified is more useful at that time? It could also cause fans to try and access the internet whilst driving, creating hazard.

I remember the days when they were read twice, there was a second results reading later in the evening.

  4. I was very confused for a second. “How are they classified? Surely someone at the stadium would leak the results”

  5. I’ve come to the conclusion that young techno-nuts think this is great because the internet should be used, but you wonder why they are interested in radio in the first place – in my car I have a radio, and that’s it – it’s pretty much illegal and stupid to use a mobile phone was results
