So since i moved into this wonderful house a year ago, i would not expect an indoor waterfall during heavy rains.
Nor did i expect my cat chasing slugs in the kitchen. (might be the humidity of the Amazons. Never been.)
But one thing that has always been on my mind is Patches.
The reclusive hungry stray. Atleast i think it is a stray.
I don’t know if it’s a he or she.
It’s Patches. Sometime the black friend tags along. Not so much anymore.
I have posted on local forums, and asked neighbours. No one seems to have any info.
What i want to do is document Patches. To make sure all is okidokey.
I’ve looked into wildlife cams. But they are like 200 euros?
Ring cam?
I don’t have internet downstairs (and the outdoor light died)
Recommendations or suggestions?

Call the local cat rescue and get them TNR’d. Cats have a habit of multiplying.
Not sure but try r/cats.
Where in the country are you based?
Something that’s always worked for me with any stray animals was get a packet of ham, cut it up into little squares, sit on the ground throw a few bits to the cat when they’re done throw more getting closer to you don’t look at them while your feeding it.
When eventually your throwing them close enough to you that your within arms reach put a good bit down so it takes them a while to eat it and scratch their ears while they’re eating don’t overdo it.
Repeat another day and soon you’ll build up trust with them and be able to take them to get neutered.
Had four of these. Ideal, and cheap as chips. £20! But currently out of stock, I see. Damn.

I have set up a barrier of salt right next to the patio door in the kitchen so that slugs can’t get in.
I was told to put beer traps outside so they’d be more attracted to them than trying to break in, but I rather waste some salt than some beer.
I also feed some strays, and I bought a cheap Aliexpress cctv cam.
It has allowed me to see the cats that come around, but also the slugs stealing the cats’ food numerous times.
I decided to put some copper tape on the outer rim of the bowls. Apparently it gives the slugs a shock and discourages them to climb on them.
After a couple of days I saw a bunch of slugs collaborating to make a tower with their slimy bodies that the chosen one could climb to get into the bowl avoiding the copper tape.
I f*cking give up. I’ll let the cats fight them for their kibble and whoever wins will get it.
35 euro, we use it for keeping an eye on the catflap for the cat’s comings and goings:
