Hello, I am going to apply for a normal work visa (not Blue Card) for Germany and I have a few questions because the provided list for my country did not explain everything that I must take with me to the appointment:
1. Do I have to certify the copies of my university degrees? They mentioned that they also want the original ones and they did not clarify whether they want the attestation on the original or the copies. Note that I have the originals fully attested from many authorities. Here’s what they wrote on the German checklist for my country: ***Abschlussdiplom, -zeugnis oder -zertifikat legalisiert, im Original und 2 Kopien Ein deutscher Ausbildungs- / Hochschulabschluss oder einem deutschen vergleichbaren anerkannten ausländischen Ausbildungs- / Hochschulabschluss***\*.\*
2. They did not mention that I have to translate anything to German, is this okay?
3. I saw some people on the internet saying that they needed a motivation letter for the work visa but I didn’t find it on the checklist. They only asked to include the CV, is this normal or do I have to include it? ***Lebenslauf in deutscher oder englischer Sprache 2 unterschriebene Exemplare.***
4. There is ***Intended place of stay in Germany*** question in the national visa form, and I haven’t booked a place yet because I don’t know if my visa will be approved or not. Can I just submit one month booking from [booking.com](https://booking.com/) so I can cancel it if my visa is rejected?
5. Regarding medical insurance, some people said that I have to book it and show it when I come to collect my visa upon approval and some said I’ll have to book before applying. What should I do?
6. Finally, my visa appointment is on 15/09/2022 and the HR wrote in the contract that my start date will be on 01/10/2022. I told her that I won’t finish all the visa and the process by then but she insisted to keep it that way and if things take longer she will push the date. Will this be okay at the embassy?
Please note that I don’t know German so I followed the translated checklist available on the official embassy’s website.
I’d be grateful if someone can help me with any of these questions because if some documents are missing, the processing time will increase a lot and I don’t think my employer will wait all this time. Also the embassy’s employees do not reply to any phone/email inquiries where I live.
