Drain the fluid and your off. The “tail” and claw is the only part you eat after you peal the shell off.
As someone from the west coast, I’d never buy them in that type of packaging. It’s got to be from a trailer, fresh from the ocean.
You can eat them as is. Just put them on a plate or something for them to drain a bit.
You just eat them with your hands. Pick one up by its back and suck it between the legs. Depending on how hard the shells are you might want a tool to crack open the arms.
You break off the butt and crack the shell there too to get the nice butt meat. I’m sure you will find a youtube video showing you a few tips and tricks about how to eat Swedish crayfish.
Also don’t forget the schnapps. O.P Anderson or Bäska droppar (there are many others, just ask at systembolaget and they will help you out).
When they’re thawed, you eat them as is!
For a Kräftskiva (Crayfish dinner party), you will need the following:
Kräftor (which you already got).
Bread, butter, cheese (for bread, look for Kavring).
Västerbottenostpaj (Västerbotten cheese pie, you can get it at the supermarket).
Aquavit (I prefer OP Andersson) served ice Cold.
Beer.
Enjoy!
Not nearly enough visible brännvin in the picture to justify eating these delicious bugs.
You want to get totally shitfaced to get the proper swedish spirit.

You don’t!! Just eat!
Those you can eat right away, the frozen ones should be re-cooked with a good broth to taste their best
I prefer these to be not prepared at all, but rather thrown in the garbage can.
