Oh dear. An opinion article about nuclear power on r/europe. And there is no popcorn at home.
Clearly we can not rely on nuclear energy. It’s incredibly expensive, a grave danger to our health and just a threat to our economy. keeping those thing running is insanity.
I wouldn’t want to run a nuclear power plant when russia is attacking nearby. Perhaps just slap solar panels everywhere including roads and apartment roofs.
Turkey has production lines that can make 100% of solar panel at once. Maybe buy some? You’d greatly reduce energy dependency to fossil fuel that comes from Russia.
The downside of solar panel is that you need to store some of energy for the night time. It’s not impossible but expensive. But France is not a poor country right?
A lot of this pain is due to crap decisions years ago by France and Germany. It impacts all of Europe.
