Down with this sort of thing

  1. How about making them fund a renewable energy site (windfarm, solar, etc) part of their planning conditions to supply them. €20m would buy a LOT of windfarm.

  2. Just a friendly reminder that the state is refusing feed in tariff’s and is generally obstructing microgeneration. Despite needing the extra capacity, it’s bad that we might generate some of our own energy and “take” money from the suppliers when in fact it will help if even a little bit with the power needed for data centres and the growing need for EV power. To give the greens some credit, this was something they pushed for, if memory serves me correct it was meant to be introduced last year, and now it’s obviously the usual game of obstruction from the department when it comes to things they don’t want to do.

In the 80s you knew you crossed the border when the roads were better, now it’s when you see all the PV panels on the roofs.

  3. I remember the great 2021 blackouts caused by the datacenters, It was a dark dark Christmas.

  4. A lot of my friends will jump on every “Government bad” band wagon going, including the data centres one.

Funnily enough they all work in ICT or software development.
