I think people need to really, really understand what an accomplishment this is for any driver. There’s so much more to F1 driving than just turning the wheel and driving fast.
He looks like a cross between a young Alain Prost and Frodo Baggins
What ever happened to racer Joshua Allen?
knowing how under funded irish motorsport is… he is doing extremely well.
Imagine the hype of Amhrán na bhFiann blasting over an F1 podium
Hope he gets on well, even if he doesn’t reach the lofty heights of F1. He’s done himself proud with his current set of results.
Let’s hope he has the financial backing to move up through the feeder series
That’s great news to hear, hopefully he has the right team around him to help with the pressure that comes with being an F1 driver… It would be great to see an Irish driver in the f1
My name is also Alex Dunne. Dont mind doxxing myself to call attention to this mildly interesting coincidence
why is this flaired under cannabis lmao
Fair play to him. The other lads look very petite compared to him. Is body frame a factor in suitability for F1
He’s got the talent but he also needs a heap of cash. Adam Carol was Ireland’s last real F1 prospect and that was over 10 years ago. He lost out on a seat at manor f1 basically because he was out bid

Narrator: …and that was the last we heard of Alex Dunne
Pure Ayrton Senna head on that young lad.
Is his dad rich?
It’s incredibly difficult to get to f1 he would need a huge amount of funding from somewhere. Many talented drivers miss out due to lack of funding
this sort of relates but i would love to see an irish driver compete in nascar
Man it would be great to see him do well. His dad is Noel Dunne so theres hope. I did karting and was more or less the top prospect in Ireland christ almost 25 years ago and the idea of getting to race at all for a poor guy from Roscommon was an absolute fantasy.
Go on the lad, fair play, would love to see it.
F1 or just getting to F1 is brutal, as we’re seeing right now with this Piastri debacle.
We’ve been missing any sniff of a driver getting near F1 so hopefully he progresses well, seeing the country being represented in F1 would be such a great boost as well and long overdue.
I’m happy for this young man, but I’m livid I didn’t get the chance to try getting into motorsport. I love F1, I always had dreams of being a driver, but unless you pack up and move to the UK and/or have significant funding it’s not happening.
Prema is a good sign
It was played by accident a couple of times
Fuck yeah, Alex! Go get it!
F1 is a load of shite, to be fair, but fair balls to that young man.

It’d be nice to see another Irish man on the grid… Who was the last? Ralph Firman?
Plugging my own post [HERE](https://www.reddit.com/r/ireland/comments/uccuuc/irish_in_single_seaters_british_f4_indy_lights/) from a while ago, but there’s James Roe in Indy Lights, among others, too.
