I’m a TOTAL noob when it comes to home maintenance stuff and double so regarding Germany and that wallpaper that covers every wall here :P.

My wife and I tried to put one of those wall stickers to decorate the kitchen but immediately the wallpaper started peeling off so clearly that was a big fail. After trying out a few times it wasn’t sticking so we relented and took it off leaving the wall scarred. [Here are a couple pictures](https://imgur.com/a/z4DaxY2) of what it looks like.

What would be the proper steps to fix that? I think I need to buy something like [this wallpaper](https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/product/B007W565O6/ref=ox_sc_saved_image_4?smid=A17TT2VU2INYL7&psc=1) but not sure what the steps are, if I need to buy paint too or just the wallpaper, etc.

Would anyone mind pointing me in the right direction or giving me a few tips?.

//Edit: I’m so freaking noob at DIY that I even spelled it wrong on the title. 10/10 should not be allowed near powertools.
