Cyclists who kill pedestrians could face tougher sentences

  1. I don’t understand why we need separate legislation for causing death via car, bike, lawnmower, etc. If someone dies as a result of your careless/reckless actions, is the ‘murder weapon’ really that significant?

  2. As a pedestrian I’m more worried about car drivers, who kill more people on the footpath in 1 year that cyclists do in decades. Who feel free to park their vehicle where they like, blocking footpaths, crossings and junctions and who run red lights with no repercussions unless there happens to be a camera there.

  3. We might get to the point where cyclists get a heavier sentences than drivers. Driving already has very light sentencing.
