Anywhere in particular? Someone here might know them.
That means he’s eligible to play fur us under the Grandparent rule doesn’t it? Would have been a good option to have in the squad.
So… It’s Captain Paddy then innit?
“feck off Red Skull ya big gowl”
So *technically* he’d be able to play for Ireland’s rugby team?
Interesting.
Just like Seamus McFly!
Rogers?
Always thought that was an Anglican name.
In a sub that lambasts Americans for saying they are Irish because their parents were American we now have the exception to the rule. Despite Cap being born and raised in Brooklyn, New York.
Also in the comics his father was an abusive drunk and his mother was a domestic wife. In 1918 that’s about as Irish an upbringing you are going to get in America.
Sher the Irish built the Avengers Initiative
That’s why there’s restaurants named after him in Dublin.
It’s originally *”Captain O’Merica”*
Ask him to pronounce “column”, “peugeot”, or “fruit pastilles”…
Ah that makes sense. That’s why he was over here sorting out the Catholics and protestants. Oh sorry, that was Captain planet.
I wonder who he shifted in the Teenage Discos when he was in Ireland for the Summer.
You mean wee Stíofán Mac Ruaidhrí? He’s a good lad and a credit to his parish.
Ah, Ireland where everything and everyone is a shade of green – hence the “emerald isle”
The US went through a phase of acknowledging the ‘good’ or ‘worthy’ immigrant in the 20th century and we fit the bill. We were fortunate enough to be white and English-speaking, so the hard work and striving of generations of Irish was rewarded with integration while still allowing our ethnicity to be acknowledged. Annoyingly sentimental on the one hand and kinda racist on the other. We were held up as a good example and a stick to beat other less lucky, less successful ethnicities.
Not to say I’m not proud that Steve is one of our own, but it’s possibly a reflection of US xenophobia as well as idealism.
Rogers a good old Irish name.
> fictional characters born in Ireland
Touch grass
I’d be cool if marvel took some obscure character like Shamrock or Banshee and made them super popular with good casting of a real Irish actor and giving them decent scenes in the movies.
I thought this was a well known fact, there’s also a diner in Dublin near emo Green in Cap’s namesake.
Captain America Plaza
Next you’ll be telling me there are even U.S. presidents with Irish ancestry!
