Lads, what is a sun cream brand I can buy in Ireland that won’t sting the ever living fuck outta my eyes? Boots Soltan has me in bits

  1. I use either Nivea roller for kids factor 50 or one from Garnier for kids F50. The roll on is really handy for out and about.

  2. Look for mineral sun creams. You have to rub it in really well to avoid looking like a mime, but it definitely worked for me

  3. Have you seen the Calypso sun cream they sell in Aldi or Home Bargains / B and M etc ? The oil. It’s FANTASTIC for not going into your eyes / stinging your eyes. I worked as a dermatology nurse for years and accidentally picked it up when all the dermatologist consultants insisted I try Aldis own suncream as they deemed it best. Lol I do use the Aldis own everywhere else on my body but use that Calypso on my face.

  4. Expensive but go to the chemist and get Avène. It’s in the bright orange bottle and protects you against anything and will not ever sting.

  5. garnier ambre solaire super uv spf 50, similar to the la roche posay one mentioned but cheaper. the posay one actually really hurt my eyes and was super sticky. The garnier one dries nicely.

also you can try the bondi sands spf 50, white and blue tube.

  6. Partner worked in this industry in lab and said Ultrasun is the best. Ripoff in M&S , but
small bottle will go a long way for the face stuff, cheaper online.

  7. For your face you should get a little tube of something fancy and French. I’ve been on the same little tube for years.

  8. Ya I would try avoid putting body-sunscreen on Face (will most likely cause breakouts and will be greasy). For very sensitive skin and eye area, buy a sunscreen design for the Face. I would definitely recommend a Mineral based sunscreen, and now there’s new hybrid mineral/chemical sunscreens on market. Chemical sunscreens can cause irritation and stinging on sensitive skins. Aim for Mineral SPF factor 30 or 50. Brands like Roche-Posay, Avene,REN, UtraSun,Kiehls,

And EltaMD (tho hard to get in Ireland).

  9. I use a daily moisturiser (CeraVe) which has SPF25. And then if I’ll be out in the sun I’ll wear a baseball cap and apply a stronger sunscreen on my face below the eyes. Forehead is protected and no heavy sunscreen to sweat down into the eyes.

You should always have a hat in the sun
