  1. They’re hardly going to support it. But the Don’t Pay UK campaign has “dodgy” written all over it, even ignoring that.

  2. What consequences?

I’ll stop my direct debit for a couple of months and then reinstate it.

If enough people do it, and do it a few times, it might make a change.

  3. So what would you have us do? Bend over… Again? “Sorry no lube for you either, budget cuts and all that, there’s a good chap. Make sure you get some overtime in for the next couple months cos I’m coming back for even more in January 😉” .

  4. That’s not a suprise. Honestly I hope the campaign gathers pace- not that I want to see people not paying their bills, but I hope it puts pressure on the government to do more.

In France they would be out protesting, in the uk we are quite content to sit quietly and complain

  5. The fact is it wouldn’t take much at all to cause huge damage to the sector. They’re nervous because this form of protest will be effective.

  6. I agree with him. Getting a CCJ on your credit rating won’t do anyone any favours. It stays on your record for 6 years

  7. OFGEM – should be Action Fraud providing the warning in anticipation of the ‘sorry we did not reach the magic one million number and even sorrier you can’t have your donations back’ announcement

  8. People are just going to be put in further debt either way, it’s going to end up messy and people will take more drastic action.

It’s certainly not the answer, that lays with the government, but they are letting this happen make no mistake.
