As long as he’s the best person for the job, what does age and skin colour have to do with being a good architect?
I’m an architect and I’ve found architecture to be more sexist than racist. One of the finest architects I know is a black woman.
I’m a minority myself. I think any less white male dominance is good for architecture in general, it’s very ‘secret handshakey’.
Any examples of his work?
What does his age or race have to do with anything?
As long as the person is perfectly qualified for the position – which I’m willing to bet in this case, Mr. Oki is – and petty superficial things like their age or race don’t and shouldn’t matter in the slightest.
