My girlfriend’s grandfather was in the Polish Army many years ago. We found this old photo of some Army Men and we cannot recognize her grandfather. We wanted to post it here as it’s likely never been seen before, and we thought somebody here might know anything more about it?

  1. My apologies for the low quality of the photo, it is a very old and fragile picture so we tried capturing it in the best quality we could.

    Our reason for posting it here is really just to find out anything more about it if anybody might have some knowledge on it, but also maybe for the chance that maybe somebody could recognize their grandparent in this photo too. It’s a long shot, but we thought it would be best to post it here

  2. They have uniforms of polish people army. Probably photo was taken after 1944 but before 1952 because then the model of caps those soldiers are wearing was decomissioned for Regular Soldiers. Well. Thats all i can say with my knowledge about that photo. Was something wrritten on its back?

  5. It looks like Polish People’s Army in late 1940s, maybe early 50s. Nice picture, my great grandpa served in this army at the same time.

  7. Look at the back of the photo, those were always signed at the back, maybe even names of some of his comrades are there

  8. My grandpa was in the same army at the same time! Unfortunately he died a few years ago. But nice seeing it again.
